The Office of the Head of the Federal Civil Service announced that 10 candidates were promoted to the next stage of federal accounting firms during the strict selection process.
In a statement issued by the Office of the Services Supervisor, Eno Olotu, the development follows the results of a written examination that evaluates candidates’ expertise in public financial management, auditing and fiscal policy.
Naija News Of the 15 candidates collected, 10 passed and will now continue to perform a competency test for Information and Communication Technology (ICT), which is scheduled for Thursday, February 13, 2025.
ICT testing is a key component of the selection process and aims to evaluate candidates’ ability to leverage technology in modern financial management.
Government reiterates commitment to performance-based recruitment
Didi Walson-Jack reiterated the government’s commitment to transparency and performance-based recruitment when it comes to development.
She said “This process reflects our dedication to appoint only the most capable individuals in roles in the field of public financial management.
“We are confident that this approach will ensure accountability, integrity and efficiency in managing public funds.”
Walson-Jack further praised the rigorous nature of the selection process, highlighting its importance in identifying professionals with technical expertise and strong leadership.
New appointment to replace outgoing accountant
The term of the current office holder Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein will expire on March 7, 2025.
The final appointment will be responsible for overseeing Nigeria’s public finances to ensure transparency and efficiency in national financial management.
The statement reiterates that fairness and equality remain at the heart of the selection process.

Successful candidates at this stage will continue to undergo further assessments, including oral interviews conducted by a team of experts from both the public and private sectors.
