Twelve suspects stole in Ekiti State due to cable TV damage.

Police in Ekiti State have arrested 12 suspects, involving the damage and stealing of cables in Ado Ekiti and some parts of the state.

Police public relations officer Abutu said on Sunday that the suspect was arrested inside and outside Ado Ekiti.

“As a result of certain reports on the state’s cable and Transformers sabotage cases, the Ekiti State Police Department, in collaboration with non-state actors, ordered the Quick Response Team to launch serious actions for the perpetrators and believed that arrests, prosecutions and weakens their criminal activities.

“This effort achieved positive results at about 13:30 on February 22, 2025, waving their various crime hiding places inside and outside Ado-Ekiti and arrested them within and within 13:30 hours.

During the investigation, all the suspects admitted to the commission of illegal and theft.

“The following items were recovered from them: armored cable coils, tilted cable coils, aluminum conductor coils, a transformer feeder pillars, a coil of bound wires, cables and generator parts. The arrested suspects should be arraigned accordingly.”

He said police chief Joseph Eribo warned all criminals in the state to repent and turn into new leaves because it no longer operates as usual.
