Tensions broke out in a community in Abia after the recent gunman attack.
A group of Chinese men and their police were reportedly attacked by gunmen.
This happened on Friday, April 4th in the Ndundu community in the Isuikwuato local government area of the state.
However, two Chinese expats and a police officer were killed, but four Chinese nationals and two policemen were rescued.
A spokesperson for the National Police Commander confirmed the incident, DSP Maureen Chinaka identified the deceased as: Mr. Quinn (male, manager), Male (male, colleague) and Inspector Audu Saidu were escorted by police.
Statement reading,
“The Abia State Police Command, in collaboration with military and other sister security agencies, has successfully rescued four Chinese expats and two escorts, led by the Divisional Police (DPO) UTURU.
“This was a distress report received within about 17:30 hours, when unknown armed personnel ambushed and attacked a group of Chinese expats and their police escorts, while they were on their way to the company of Agukwu-Amaya in Ndundu Community, Uturu, Isuikwoato Lga, NY.
Sadly, in the attack, manager Mr Quan (male), his colleague CAI (male) and inspector Audu Saidu (one of the escorts) were killed. The attackers also moved inspector Saidu’s rifle.

“After receiving the message, Abia State Command’s joint operations with the military and other sister agencies launched a search mission.
“As a result, three Chinese expats were rescued and one suffered injuries. Uba Ahmed was also rescued, with his leg injured. The injured officer and expat are currently receiving treatment and are being treated at FMC Abakaliki.
“Today, on May 4, 20125, the Tactical Team Agents of the Commander, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operation), visited the crime scene as part of the ongoing search and rescue efforts. Through cooperative operations involving police, military and local community members.. ”
