2,056 athletes participated in MTN Champs Season 3.
Founder and CEO Champion Bambo Akani said on Wednesday that 2,056 athletes have registered for Benin’s MTN Champs Season 3.
Akani revealed this in a media briefing for the three-day track and field championship in Benin, saying that the first season of the game was also played in Benin and talent was discovered.
He added that some of the talented athletes found from the competition are currently enjoying full scholarships at different schools in the United States.
He said he has confidence that those talented athletes who were found will be proud of international competitions.
Osaze Ebueku also said senior manager sponsorship and listing (GTM) said MTN could spot rough diamonds and improve them to become world champions. He said they are working with partners to improve the country’s perspective on track and field standards.
“You’ve become stronger together on a long journey, and the fact that we have partners like Edo’s joining the program shows its importance. We are continuing our journey of discovering and developing talents in Edo,” he said.
Edo State Governor, Edo State Senator Okpebholo on Monday was represented by Edo State Sports Committee Chairman Amadin Enabulele, whose government believes in the development of grassroots sports.
He said he generously approved the use of Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium and other logistics to successfully host a successful event in the state while demonstrating a love for grassroots sports, capturing young children and supporting the MTN program.
He added: “The Governor has given us the task of empowering us to the nooks and gaps of the state to discover talents, and that’s what we do in a game like this.
