The Royal Philanthropic Family (DIPF) has awarded £1,000,000 each to 25 outstanding students from the South East in recognition of their outstanding performance in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The 2025 DIPF Scholarship Award Ceremony was held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in Awka, Anambra State. The event brought together education stakeholders, community leaders and beneficiary families to celebrate academic achievements.
The 25 students were selected through a two-stage merit-based admissions process. First, they achieved 250 points and above in the 2025 UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). They then sat for a competitive scholarship exam organized by the Best Brain Competition on behalf of DIPF. In the end, five students from each of the five southeastern states stood out strictly on the basis of merit.
Speaking at the ceremony, DIPF National President Darlington Nwabunike congratulated the students and urged them to remain disciplined and focused on their academic goals. He stressed that investing in education remains one of the most effective ways to empower young people and promote regional and national development.
Chairman of the DIPF Education Committee, Chief Chikezie Okonkwo, also commended the students for their efforts. He commended the “Best Brain Competition” organized by Dr. Frank Igbojindu for its transparent and professional selection process.
This scholarship program highlights DIPF’s ongoing commitment to supporting education and encouraging excellence among young Nigerians.
