
The Lagos State Police Command has begun an investigation into the sudden D3ath of an 80-year-old Colombian country Quesada Vanegas Ricardo Alfonso, whose body was found in the Golden Tulip Hotel in Festac Town.
According to police sources, a call in distress was received on May 1, 2025, warning authorities to find the deceased around the hotel room (No. C85) on the 8th floor of the hotel.
Police teams, including homicide detectives, were sent to the scene to check the situation.
Preliminary investigation shows that the victim had been staying in the hotel for more than four months before D8ATH. His body showed no signs of violence or foul.
A source told security analyst Zagazola Makama: “The body was evacuated and transported to the mainland general hospital morgue in Yaba.
“In addition, some hotel managers were briefly detained for failing to keep appropriate records of guests. They have since been released as part of the investigation.
“Police assured that a thorough investigation will continue to determine the cause of death.”
