The Kwara State Police Department has confirmed the murder of Alhaji Idris Abubakar, the president of the Miyetti Allah cattle herd of Kwara State in Macban, Nigeria.
According to a statement by headquarters spokesman SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the late Abubakar was shot dead at the entrance to Oke Ose in Oke-Oke-oyi on March 8, 2025.
The commander said police detectives responded quickly and recovered five spent 7.62mm shells, whose remains were stored in Uith Mortuary.
The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has begun a comprehensive investigation. CP Victor Olaiya, PSC (+) guarantees that the perpetrators will be brought to justice and urges the public to remain calm and provide useful information.
