    Urhobo Group rally behind Omene, urging Tinubu to prioritize Urhobo Land’s gas project

    Last weekend, the Urhobo United Council (UFC) conducted a solidarity visit to former Urhobo Progress Alliance President Olorogun Joe Omene (UPU), praising him for his firm advocacy for the growth and progress of Urhobo Nation.

    During his visit, Mr. Oturhobore Felix Oghenekevwe, acting president of the UFC, called on the Urhobo people to embody the spirit of their popular singing voices “urhoboovuọvo,” Especially on issues concerning their collective interests.

    Oghenekevwe expressed concerns about the recent establishment of the five million naira LNG mini plant in Kogi State, criticizing Urhobo Land’s exclusion, home to some of the country’s most abundant natural gas and crude oil deposits. He called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Update hope Agenda.

    In a performance of showing trust and solidarity, the UFC unanimously adopted Olorogun Omene as their patron, promising to firmly promote the interests of the Urhobo people.

    In response, Olorogun Omene urged the organization to remain firm, emphasizing that the pursuit of Urhobo development should transcend political affiliation.

    Omene also praised the governor of the Triangle State, Sheriff Oborevwori, for his infrastructure advancement throughout the state, especially in the Urhobo community. He acknowledged the governor’s commitment to development and urged continued support for policies that benefited from the region.
