Governor Forbara was asked to resign or impeach within 48 hours.
Nigeria News Nalin The report said the Opposition All Progressive Conference (APC) called on Rivers Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara to resign within 48 hours, or to impeach by the State Capitol.
Tony Okocha, the state’s APC president, Chief Tony Okocha, told reporters Monday morning at his private residence in the state capital Harcourt Port.
Okocha accused Fubara of insulting President Bola Tinubu, who tried to provide a political solution to the crisis in the state.
He said: “As a party, we are here to advise the governor today. There are two options, honorable resignation or impeachment. That is the position of the Congress of all progressives. He disrespects Mr. President, we told him we can’t be here and let him disrespect Mr. President.”
“The crime is there; the Supreme Court agreed, and even provided us with more evidence. The House of Representatives does not need to form any committee again to investigate him.
“48 hours are too much to be the last aatim. He should resign with honor.”
