
A farmer died after a palm tree fell on him in the village of Bogije in Ijebu Igbo on March 9, 2025. The statement issued by the command spokesman CSP Omolola Odutola said the incident was reported to the police around Sunday (M) in Bogije, Atikori, Ijebubu Bogije.
According to his report, the deceased was identified as 40-year-old Abdullah Rasaki (M), who went to the Egbe Semi jeje area of Oke Sopen in Ijebu Igbo, Oke Sopen, according to his report, and cut down palm trees when a tree accidentally landed on him.
”Abdullahi screamed in pain for help, and neighbors nearby rushed towards his aid, where they removed the trees and immediately took him to the general hospital in Sagamu for treatment.
Unfortunately, he was confirmed dead by doctors when he arrived at the hospital, suspected that the big tree had landed on a part of his body. Statement reading
Odetola said his body had been stored in a morgue in the hospital for preservation and autopsy.
She mentioned that the case is currently under investigation by the Department of Crime Department (DCB) to determine the full picture surrounding the incident. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
