The Akwa Ibom State Police Department has arrested his wife Victoria Okoh, 38, at the residence of 38, Victor Okoh, 42, of Akwa Ibom State Oon.
“At about 05:20 hours, the command’s operators quickly responded to the distress call about residents. Upon arrival, officers found the deceased’s incomplete body lying outside the house she shared with her husband,” said a statement Monday by command spokesman DSP Timfon John.
Preliminary investigations show that the suspect allegedly attacked his wife with a machete for alleged infidelity.
Further reports indicate that the suspect was hiding from the ceiling of the house to escape arrest. The operators tactically secured the building, entered the building vigorously, and successfully arrested the attacker.
“The machete used by police for crimes is captured on camera for investigation purposes,” a spokesman for the command said.
The body of the murdered housewife has been stored in a morgue for autopsy in a general hospital, and as the investigation has been investigated, the suspect has been detained in police custody.
State Police Commissioner Baba Mohammed Azare condemned all murders and assured the public that justice will work in all.
Furthermore, he warned of all forms of domestic violence and called on residents to seek legal settlement of disputes rather than resorting to violence.
“The headquarters remains committed to ensuring the safety of all citizens and urges the public to immediately form any suspicious activity to the recent police,” the statement said.
