Tyla is associated with her album Tyla on the Billboard World Album Rankings with long-term records of African female artists.

South African singer Tyla spent 50 weeks on the Billboard World Album Rankings with her debut album Tyla with her eponymous debut album Tyla, and he had already made an extraordinary milestone on the Billboard World Album Rankings when she joined legend Cesária évora as the only female African artist who had been on the charts for a long time.

The album’s lead single “Water” turned into a viral feel, peaking at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned Doplato certification in several countries.

The album has received wide acclaim for its innovative fusion of genres, including Amapiano, R&B and Afrobeats. Critics praised Terra’s versatility and vocal ability, and Pitchfork highlighted her “savvy” singing ability and the Rolling Stones, pointing to her effectiveness as Amapiano ambassador.

Tyla’s achievements are particularly noteworthy when considering the history of African female artists on the Billboard World album chart. An African female artist last owned an album nearly four decades ago, and Cape Verde legend Cesária évora’s album of the same name took 66 weeks on the charts in 1995.

With Tyla’s impressive run on the rankings, fans and industry observers are eager to see what Tyla is going to do next.
