Journalist and politician Dele Momodu explains why he no longer stays in good shape with the federal capital’s territorial minister Nyesom Wike.
According to Momodu, he was a close friend of Vick, but their relationship became tense after informing the former River Governor of his intention to join the president.
Momodu said he suspected Wike was secretly caring for his presidential ambitions, so he stopped answering the phone after he told Wike about (Momodu) presidential ambitions.
“I’m very close [Nyesom] Vick. We are no longer close. I declared my interest in the presidential election started to trouble.
“He didn’t tell anyone he wanted to play, but because of the brand and how much he spent on journalists, I doubt it. He had PR deals with many media companies.
“These stuff isn’t cheap, but he’s done a good job; everyone is talking about him.
“So I met him and told him that I would fight for the president and I needed his support. Before that, I had consulted nationwide and I met the Emirs, the Sudan and everyone.
“The general impression I get is that if Vick wants to run, he will have problems, especially in the North. Northerners will support anyone, but not Vick.
“I tried to tell him that this is what I picked up, would you support me if you can’t run? What kind of crime is that?
“I’ve considered you and my friends. He told people even live on the channel when the interviewer asked him to comment on new entrants like Dele Momodu, he said: “Which Dele Momodu? Seriously!
“I was shocked. Vick told me that he had looked at himself and his boss, [Rotimi] When we fly the helicopter, he will say, “See these people, they are enjoying o!’, now disrespect me, it’s just because he’s making money now, power.”‘
