The Oxen state chapters of all Progressive Party Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have locked in the corner where the state government recently introduced local government chairmen and lawmakers to the federal government.

Oxson State Government has broken into disputes by letters signed by the state government through secretary Delivery of igbalaiyeformally bringing local government executives into key federal officials from the state’s 30 councils.

These letters have been sent to the Attorney General of the Federal Government (AGF), Latef lateefmi;Shamsudeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, federal accountant; and Yemi Cardoso, governor of the Central Bank.

APC kicks, calling LG officials “imitators”

APC responded to the move in a statement from its media director, Colabisi Olabisicondemns the action, listing the letters as the action mark listed in the “Imitator”. The party insists that there is no legal election to make them.

“There is no vacancies at Osun LGAS to guarantee any election.” Olabisi said the Court of Appeal ruled on February 10, 2025 that the ruling resumed the elected senior local government executives on October 15, 2022.

Olabisi also accused the governor Adecola Adeloke Ignoring the legal advice of AGF, the AGF has previously warned against new elections.

“It is strange that Governor Adleck, who ignores the professional advice of the Attorney General, does not hold elections, is now writing to the same office to introduce some people as formally elected local government executives, He said.

He further referred to the security issues raised by the Attorney General of Police, who warned that he warned of the election due to adverse security reports.

“We urge the federal attorney general, federal accountants and central bank governors to ignore this claim of impostor. The so-called elections that resulted in them were illegal and unnecessary,” he said. Olibya.

PDP launches backwards, accusing APC of manipulating facts

In response, Osun PDP Chairman Sunday Bisidismissed the APC’s claim, accusing the party of distorting the judicial ruling to fit its narrative.

“The APC continues to deny a judgment that fired their so-called chairman, who were elected in a fake election with the only participants.” Bissi said.

He defended the state government’s approach and pointed out that it chose peaceful and legal resolutions rather than political conflict.

“Instead of allowing the APC’s bloody agenda, despite losing six party members, we chose to engage with the federal attorney general and other relevant federal officials,” He added.

BISI also claims that all relevant court judgments, including appeals that the Court of Appeals ruled to remove APC, have been submitted to the federal government for review.

“The federal government now has a certified true copy of the Akure Court of Appeal judgment that has no consequences or orders to restore the fired president of the Council,” He pointed out.

    PDP: FG reviews court judgment

BISI accused Osun APC of being upset that federal agencies are reevaluating their previous stance on local government disputes.

“The lies of Osun APC have been exposed. The certified verdict has been submitted to the Federal Department of Justice, which is currently reviewing them. The real chairman and MP of our big party remains the effective elected local government leaders in Osen State,” He asserted.

He further claimed that the president is now aware of the crisis, alleging that certain APC factors have damaged the party’s reputation in an attempt to manipulate the situation in Osun.
