
On March 13, Senate Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan overwhelmed the vote of confidence for Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The decision came within 48 hours of the moratorium on Senate Expatriate and NGO Chairman Natasha Akputi-Akputi-Udoahan (PDP, Kogi Central), who claimed she was suspended for allegations of raising sexual@l harassment.
The Senate has urged Nigerians not to be accused of distraction and stressed that the matter is already in front of the court. The Senate, citing its conventional provisions of Order 40, said it would not interfere with the issue in terms of judicial considerations.
A motion brought by Senate leader Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (Ekiti Central) was unanimously passed in a plenary meeting on Thursday and was seconded by Deputy Ethnic Minority Leader Olalere Oyewumi (Osun West).
