Two reasons why I don’t regret supporting Tinubu

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai said he does not regret supporting President Bra Tinubu in the 2023 election.

El-Rufai said in an interview with BBC Hausa that he does not regret supporting Tinubu due to two factors.

According to him, the Yoruba leader from the southwest complained to him about the political challenges facing Muslim politicians, so he decided to support the president.

He also noted that there is an initial agreement that the presidency will rotate southward in 2023.

According to him,I don’t regret supporting him, but I’m disappointed. There are two reasons why I don’t regret it. First, the Yoruba leader from the southwest came to me in Kaduna and explained that Muslim politicians in the region faced political challenges. That’s why I support Tinubu.

“Secondly, we agree that in 2023, the president should move to the South to promote fairness and justice in the country.”

Further, El-Rufai described all the Progress Conference (APC) as political parties abandoning its founding principles and now prioritizes personal interests over public services.

“APC ignores the people. Everyone is looking for their own personal interests and making money. The government has become a business and everything comes at a price. There is no justice. The party doesn’t even know those who work for it.

“For every date they only pick people from Lagos. The party is dead. That’s why I consulted Tunde Bakare, Buhari, Abdullahi Adamu, Adams Oshiomhole and Bisi Akande before making a decision, and then El-Rufai said.
