Most Nigerians seek public offices to enrich themselves and their relatives – Obasanjo

Most Nigerians are looking for public offices to enrich themselves and their relatives? Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo said most Nigerians are interested in public offices just to enrich themselves and their relatives and then make the country worse than they encounter.

The former president said the men received billions of dollars in Naira on loans and they don’t think there will be any problem in repaying them from public funds after being elected.

Obasanjo reveals this in his new book Nigeria: The Past and Future, where he painted the role of CEO at the federal and state levels.

The book is one of two new books announced last week, announcing Obasancho’s 88th birthday last week.

The former president said most people have the opportunity to hold leadership positions in the country, such as governors, presidents, ministers, commissioners and chairs of local governments, who are underprepared, Satan, are self-centered and enrich themselves corruptly throughout the country, while the nation continues to indulge in poverty and condemnable shortcomings.

He said: “How do you explain the situation in the CEO, the governor, whose business owes banks billions of dollars in Naira and before becoming governor, his company paid for all the business owed to the bank within two years of not doing anything.

“You’re going to guess where the money comes from. After escaping this in the first semester, he delegated almost half of the state resources to himself in the second semester. He is a classic example of the almost universal stage in the country, with only a few exceptions.

“National resources are captured and allocated to themselves to keep the mouths of staff and colleagues closed to the mouths of those who can whistle or alert them when they are in office and in office.’’

He further said: “The person who commits absurd crime is a CEO who cheats, lies and tries to cover up the action and inaction, and covers the reality and inaction of state assets in contract rewards, agreements, treaties, borrowings and forward sales of state assets. Such a CEO is not suitable for the job he does.”
