On Thursday, March 13, Deputy Deputy Commissioner of Police Department (DSP) of the Nigerian Police Force District 9 Headquarters (NPF) had a meal at a restaurant in the command post in Umuahia, Abia.
The official had just conducted an investigation operation with his team and decided to eat before he could resume his duties.
However, he reportedly started to behave strangely while eating and collapsed shortly afterwards.
His colleagues drove him to the police clinic of the Central Police Department on Bend Road, the local government area in Umia Ahia, but no medical staff were found on duty.
He was transferred to the Umuahia Federal Medical Center (FMC), where he was identified as de@d.
His body has been stored in the FMC morgue.
As of this report, the 9th District Headquarters has not issued a formal statement on the incident.
