Economic Reform: Peter Obi sarcastically praises President Tinubu

Labour presidential candidate Peter Obi, who was the 2023 election, conducted a scan in Bola Tinubu Presidential Party, sarcastically praised him for fulfilling his promise and continuing the departure of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

On Thursday, March 13, during a visit to Governor Bala Mohammed, Obi criticized the current government’s handling of the economy, noting that Nigeria must now go beyond racial and religious politics to focus on competence and competence.

“Tinubu promised to continue where Buhari stopped. If you look at it, when Buhari left the dollar at about N400, it was about N1,500 today. The rice was about N40,000 and now it’s over N100,000. The fuel was about N300, and now it’s over 1,000. I can keep going – everything doubled and doubled. So he did exactly what he promised,” Obi said.

Obi compared Nigeria’s economic performance with that of Indonesia on how their government has changed the country’s economy over the past decade.

“In Indonesia, a president was sworn in with another Nigeria. Ten years later, Indonesia moved its GDP from $800 billion to $1.3 trillion, and its per capita income rose from $3,000 to $5,000. In Nigeria, our GDP fell from $500 billion to $200 billion and per capita income fell from $3,500 to below $2,000, which is the difference.”

He further stressed the need to restore Nigeria’s industries, invest in education and health care, and guide the country towards production governance.

Obi said his meeting with Governor Bala Mohammed was part of a widespread discussion on addressing the country’s challenges.

“We’re just starting to discuss. You can’t get married in one day. But the most important thing is that our minds focus on issues that affect the average Nigerian.

We want a Nigeria where no one can be someone’s child. We will eliminate the elite plot to use tribalism and religion to split the people. We have voted for tribes and religions before. Now, we have to vote for competence and competence. ”
