Emmanuel Ogidi, the caretaker of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), said he hopes the party will reorganize and become a family.

Naija News The party’s National Working Committee (NWC) is reportedly led by its chairman Elijah Damagumopened Thursday for the Southern Regional Care Council after invalidation at the Calabar Regional Conference on February 22.

The Caretaker Committee has Ogidi as Chairman Damiete Herbert-Miller (Secretary), Nicholas Ayuwa, Godwin Akpan Udonta, Mrs. Bekewei Ashanti, Mr. Idehen Ebomoyi and Mrs. Vivian Ahanmisi are members.

Ogidi, who is accused of the Calabar Congress, said in a speech with Arise News on Thursday that only the NWC has the right to hold the party’s elections.

He dismissed the claim of the Southern Region Secretary proposed by the Calabar Parliament, George Turnerhe believes that the NWC lacks the right to conduct regional elections.

He said:The Constitution has authorized the NWC to conduct all elections. If you ask him (Turner), OK, who did the ward election? Because before you arrive at the area, you start from the ward. Who did the ward? Who did LG? Who conducted the country? ”

He explained whether the PDP crisis was sponsored, and he explained that the member’s Indiscipline was the cause of the internal crisis of the party.

He recalled that in the early days of the party, they did not bring internal issues to the court. He said some members of the party felt they had to accept their decision.

Ojidi said he accepted the new role of the South-South president because he didn’t want to lose any party members.

“You know, like I said, we had problems. PDP is the problem. Our members are, some of our members are going crazy. That’s the problem. I don’t want to start looking for… They don’t follow the rules of the political party. You know, I’ve been at this party since its inception. I’m the President of the State. During my time as state president in the early 2000s, I We don’t go to court. Things are weird in court today. It’s strange to us. It’s strange. Lack of discipline. Look, at least I’m the example of this. Democracy, if you allow democracy to run…it’s going to be crazy if you don’t direct it. That’s why every party has regulators, the Constitution.

“But some people are either because they are rich or because they have connections. They want it to happen their own way. It will cost anything. For me, PDP is my biggest… PDP is my family. It’s always a complicated thing when you deal with family. I don’t want to lose anyone using PDP. That’s why I accept this job,” He added.
