    Kel-P undermines silence over shocking allegations from former collaborators

    Nigerian record producer Kel-P talks about the allegations of his former collaborator Solidstar, who claims to direct him in the music industry.

    In January, Solidstar accused Kel-P of stealing his musical style and putting it in Burna BoyTheir voices during their collaboration. The singer suggested that despite his deep hurtfulness of the situation, he chose to respect the respect of the Berner boy who had previously supported him.

    Get his X Solidstar wrote: “I retouched Kel-p, we made ‘eleganza’ and some unreleased songs, trying to make an album. Then, Burna Boy dropped an album and I heard a lot of my vibe. I was really in pain.

    However, in a recent episode of Urban96 Podcast, Kel-P refuted the claim. He asserted that he was the one who created the voice in question in the first place. He explained that some artists mistakenly believed them “Own” The sound is just because the producers have worked with them in a similar style.

    “So many artists say I’m giving their resonance to others. What they don’t understand is that I created the sound and shared it with them. When they hear something similar elsewhere, they feel entitled,” Kel-P said.

    He admitted to working with Solidstar in the past, but revealed that he never made money from his collaboration. According to Kel-P, once he had the chance to work with Burna Boy, he completely changed his focus.

    He also tells how Solidstar reached out to him after the Covid-19-19 lockdown. He said Solidstar congratulated him on his success in Burna Boy and even asked for help securing the record agreement. However, their communications have changed unexpectedly.

    “He followed me on Instagram and sent me a DM. I promised to stay in touch, but two days later he canceled my followers. I didn’t accept it in person. Then a few months later he followed me again and sent me a message, but I didn’t respond and he canceled my response again. A month ago a friend sent me a gift from SolidStar of SolidStar to me.

    Kel-P gained wide recognition after production and co-writing 10 tracks On Burna Boy’s critically acclaimed 2019 album African giantnominated for the Grammy Award.
