Kanye West noted that he did not like Kendrick Lamar’s music and hoped he was not recommended in Playboi Carti’s new album music.
Carti’s long-awaited project finally arrived a few hours after midnight launch on Friday morning (March 14), and included multiple appearances of Compton Rap Star.
Kendrick published a guest poem about “Good Credit” and he seemed to mention Drake’s libel lawsuit on his diss song “Not Like Us”, while he also had guest vocals on “Mojo Jojo” and “Backd00r.”
Kanye took on X (formerly Twitter) to share his initial reaction to Carti’s album, and he didn’t have any effort to contribute to Kendrick.
Although he has worked and toured with Kendrick in the past, and even co-produced “Backd00r”, you write, “I don’t like Kendrick Lamars music. He raps very well, but I don’t need to hear him on the Carti album.”
Yeezy, however, is a fan of the songs “Crank” and “I Teeeeeee You Baby Boi.”
This is not the first time Kanye West has criticized Kendrick Lamar.
Prior to the February Super Bowl halftime show, Chicago rap legend showed Kendrick was “supported” by an industry that was selective in supporting black artists.

He added: “They chose the n-ggas they want to support and who they want to let go. When they want to. But all celebrities are scared and selfish.”
Ye also called on his “Los Angeles No More Party” collaborators to publicly support Diddy during his Super Bowl show, who is currently awaiting trial of sexual trafficking and racket charges in prison (a request that has been ignored).
“Kendrick Lamar needs to scream freely from the Super Bowl. We all know why. I will respect it like that,” he wrote in another post. “But that’s hypocritical. One n-ggas went to jail and the other N-GGA was in the Super Bowl.”
Despite his comments, Kanye later called Kendrick’s halftime performance a “favorite” since 1993 by Michael Jackson since 1993.
Last year, he also highly praised his performance in his hatred with Drake, who said in an interview with Justin Laboy: “This guy does it.” You know on a street fighter you’ll be like Chun-li, you’ll get a certain kick, and you can’t beat that thing anyway.
“Joe Buden said, ‘Never rap about Kendrick Lamar.’ If you rap about Kendrick Lamar, it’s a tough task.”
But you do claim that only he can beat Kendrick in the rap battle, adding: “But maybe there is something – I’m a psychological genius, so maybe it’s… [Do not rap against Kendrick] Unless you are a psychological genius like me.
