Former allies Japhet Omojuwa and Bashir slammed each other on social media after Bashir’s father, Nasir El-Rufai, defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Social and political commentator Omojuwa has been a long-time supporter of El-Rufai until the former governor split with APC. Omojuwa then changed the loyalty of El-Rufai’s successor and current political enemy Uba Sani.

After Bashir began to show his support for Sani, he went on X and threw a shadow at Omojuwa. Bashir hinted that his family gave Omojuwa his first iPad.
“I know, when he used to wait desperately in our portal for the audience, we should never have hit this guy on the iPad. Now, we’re creating a hypocritical and typical monster.”

In response, Omojuwa said he would donate eight iPads to some of his supporters.
He said: “I will donate 8 iPads to 8 followers. Can you guess why you want 8 iPads? Haha. Next week, by the grace of God, I will pick my 8 followers, 1 iPad per follower. Probably more. But, let’s start with 8. It’s a big number.
“PS: Now or in 2039, I will never laugh at you for it. Our family is not that way. Actually, most families are not like that, so that doesn’t make my family laugh especially. People will have a poor and narcissistic mindset and do that kain thing. This is a gift. You don’t owe me a gift I never asked for.”

Both of them called each other in subsequent tweets.
