Kevin Roberts, a 32-year-old laborer, was sentenced to one year in prison for beating his wife in Guyana.
Roberts of Queenstown on the Equibo Coast of Ess are charged with the offence of assault that was committed by his wife Annalisa Francis, which was held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 in Queenstown on the Equibo Coast of Essay.
The Guyana Police Force said in a statement on Sunday, March 16 that the allegation was under Chapter 8 of Section (21) of the Summary Jurisdiction Act.
The case was heard in the Sudi Magistrate Court on Thursday, March 13, 2025, and the defendant read it to the defendant before Magistrate Ms. Tamieka Clarke.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to one (1) month in prison.
