Nigerian singer Ahmed Ollalade (commonly known as Asake) made headlines after reports that he had begun taking responsibility for his so-called father, Fatai Odunsi.
A few weeks ago, Odunsi made public that he begged for financial assistance as his health worsened. In the viral video, he expressed disappointment at his son’s absence throughout his life, claiming that Asak hadn’t checked him for a long time. His so-called baby mom also spoke out loud, detailing her role in life and adding to the controversy.
In a recent interview with online character Mr Lilgaga, Odunsi said he no longer complained to the singers because Asake has now taken steps to provide medical services. According to him, the singer also directed his team to find a house and promised to be held accountable for his so-called abandoned daughter.
In the interview, Mr. Lilgaga asked Odunsi whether he was Asake’s responsible father when he grew up. In response, he insisted that no one could otherwise, insisted that he did his best. Neighbors from Isale Eko, who lives in Odunsi, also reportedly confirmed that he was responsible for the singer’s growth.
As if responding to the allegations, Asake recently went on social media to share a freestyle video of him singing in Yoruba. In the editing, he seems to resolve the controversy, sing, “You can’t satisfy the world. Anything you do, make sure you do for God and remember the day when all of us died. Didn’t you see everything happening? Even my father wanted to let me down, but I stood up and I’m healthy. You can’t turn off my light…”
Meanwhile, the lyrics have since sparked mixed reactions, with many speculations Asake talking indirectly about the situation with the so-called father.
