Barcelona Football Club has confirmed that one of its first team players, Inigo Martinez, has been injured in front of the annual international window.
The Catalonia Club posted the Inigo Matinez injury news on its official website on Monday, March 17, 2025. According to Barcelona, Inigo Martinez was injured in a 4-2 victory over Atletico Madrid on Sunday and will remain different throughout the international break.
The defender played all the game against Atletico Madrid on Sunday but left the stadium unwell. The Catalans have now confirmed the extent of their injuries after testing the players.
The club’s statement is as follows;
“Tests this morning confirmed that first-team player Inigo Martínez’s right knee flexion was inflamed. He will be treated in Barcelona under the supervision of the club’s medical staff.”
Reports from other Spanish news outlets say Inigo Martinez will be excluded for three weeks. However, Martinez was excluded from the Spanish national team’s quarter-final against the Netherlands, and Bournemouth’s Dejan Hujsen received a call to replace him.
