A husband was rescued by residents of Oko-Filling, a community of Araromi, Sango Ota, after he was bound, blocked and left behind his wife and children over a dispute over retirement benefits.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, March 13 at the family residence.
The husband reportedly had received his retirement expenses and used a portion to her wife to open two stores in Abule, which gave her wife three million.
He also bought himself an N 12 million car, and the family already owns a home in the area.
However, his wife and four sons, both college graduates, were not happy that he hadn’t handed them all the funds because they thought it was appropriate and so they tried to put pressure on him.
Shortly after buying a new car for himself, he sold it, which aroused suspicion among neighbors.
A local landlord who spoke to the country revealed that the man was later found by his mouth, hands and feet tied to his home.
“He was tied up like an animal @ughter.
“The landlord in the area who couldn’t stand the noise decided to go out and find out what went wrong. When they arrived at his compound, they saw Korope (small bus) outside the packaging property.
“His wife and son are packed people, so, the residents asked the man. When the response given was not satisfied, they forced themselves in the house and saw that the man was completely bound with the Aboki man who was still in the house, as if they were waiting for him.
“The man was untied and taken to the hospital. He was still in the hospital for treatment. All the suspects were taken to the police station. A Aboki admitted that it was the man’s wife who signed him up to tie him up. The landlord said they were all taken to the police station,” the landlord said.
Audio messages recorded by Emmanuel Omola, president of the Anjomo Community Development Association (CDA), confirm the landlord’s information.
According to Omola, the woman went to the police station to report that her husband wanted to give her.
He said: “On the evening of March 12, the wife went to the police station to report that her husband wanted to give her. The police told her to drive a bus and transport the police to her house to arrest her husband. She left the station and did not come back.
“When she got to the neighborhood, she tied the man up with some Aboki and when they started packing the items, that was when the neighbors heard the noise, that was what made them all gather there.
“When they got there, they saw the kids holding a small bus (Korope), where they were loading up and leaving.
“The residents entered the house, where they met Apoki and saw the man tied up. Aboki and the owner of the tricycle conveyed them there, admitting that it was the wife who called them.”
Whenever you hear unusual noises in your surroundings, Omora suggests that people always ask questions.
“We shouldn’t be indifferent to this, let’s respond quickly. If not, the landlord responded quickly and I believe Abukis, who was brought into that house, wanted to kill the man, and that’s what they were told to do.
“So if we hear the voices from our neighbor’s house, we shouldn’t say it has nothing to do with us, just a quick response can save lives. If it weren’t for that nearby landlord, that man would die.
“Now, the man is in the hospital and they say his penis is swollen. His wife, children and Aboki are at the police station.
“Those who receive pensions, know how you tell your family. I think the pensions the man receives almost resulted in his th.”
