Anambra Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo said he prepared for President Bola Tinubu’s destructive policies, including the cancellation of fuel subsidies and the unification of foreign exchange windows.
Naija News Sorudo reportedly announced this popularity in a media chat on Monday, March 17, 2025 to celebrate his third anniversary in the state capital Awka.
The governor said he was not surprised despite some chaotic economic situations caused by Tinubu’s reforms. He stressed that he has found innovative ways to deal with uncertainty, including waste and recurring spending.
The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) acknowledged that the cost of construction has been more expensive in the past two years since the Tinob reform, but the economic environment will ease over time.
He said “Nothing surprising. I know that the microeconomic environment will be very confusing when applying for a job.
“I served before the current government in 2022 and have the courage to deal with the multiple but debilitating subsidies that every government is afraid to face.
“It will be destructive and bumpy, especially in the short to medium term.
“All of this was a shock that Sorudo expected. So he built (something) that lowered some of our expectations, but was surprised by the positive attitude.”
