    Principal arrested for allegedly being a student in Ogun

    The Ogun state government announced the arrest of Ashafa Afelaja, principal of a private school in Igode near Oggicho, allegedly a female student’s s0dome.

    National Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye revealed this in a statement on Monday, March 17, 2025, saying Afelaja was arrested after an unfortunate incident involving the public brought the incident in the State Notification to the State Notification. government.

    “In the report, a young female student’s school principal physical attack (S0domising) said that our rescue team intervened in Adamo in the border community of Ikorodu,” the statement said.

    “Although the perpetrator is currently in police custody, we are following up on the rescued children and mothers for the necessary attention and further action.

    “We want to ensure that the public is getting the necessary medical and psychological support.

    “The ministry remains firmly ensuring justice for all survivors of abuse and will continue to work with law enforcement agencies to ensure swift and decisive action against perpetrators.

    “We urge the public to remain vigilant and to quickly report any cases of child abuse, domestic violence and other forms of human abuse. We reiterate that the Government of Prince Dapo Abiodun will continue to maintain zero tolerance for gender-based violence, child abuse and other forms of domestic abuse.”

    “The perpetrators are allegedly in police custody and are underway for all necessary legal arrangements to ensure justice.

    “Currently, the child is stable, responds well to medical treatment and has been further tested and evaluated to ensure he is fully recovered.”

    The Commissioner urges the public to support the state government in eliminating all forms of gender-based violence, child abuse, and all other acts of harm to women and children’s development.
