An explosion occurred in the Trans-Niger pipeline in Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area, River State.
Vanguard reportedly reportedly took place on Monday night, March 17, along a critical outlet pipeline that transported crude oil to Bonny Terminal.
Although the exact cause of the explosion is not yet known, the affected part of the main pipeline was engulfed by the fire.
Authorities have not yet determined whether the incident was due to human intervention, especially the recent threat from militant groups to attack oil facilities in response to the federal government’s withdrawal of River State grants due to ongoing political crisis.
