The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) rejected the state of emergency imposed by President Bora Tinubu on the River State.
In a statement issued by PDP’s national propaganda minister Debo Ologunagba, the party argued that the president exercised powers he did not have to remove and imposed a state of emergency in states controlled by the PDP.
Declare read;
“PDP, indeed, Nigerians listened to the national broadcast announced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in 1999, the president completely violated the 1999 Constitution and declared a state of emergency in Rivers.
The PDP directly rejected the President’s attempt to cover the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 1999 (as amended) and undermined the vote and will of the people of Rivers by seeking democratic governments and devotees in the state.
President Tinob’s moratorium on democratically elected River State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the appointment of unelected individuals, rulers of the Democratic and Democratic Commission that ruled the country, the unconstitutional Ibokette Ibas (RTD) was a clear attack on the democracy and the ratification of the country, a clear attack on the democracy and the Democratic Party that ruled the country, a clear attack on the democracy and the Democratic Party that ruled the country.
Therefore, the actions of Mr. President are clearly bound to try to occupy the captive state. It was the culmination of a dynamic plot that forced the takeover of Rivers State, and the All Progressive Congress (APC) has been working to hinder the crisis to ensure democracy is eventually cut off in the state.
The Nigerians were invited to note that under the 1999 Constitution, the situation in the River State and the reasons raised by the President could not prove that the state of emergency declaration was totally incompetent. ”
The statement reads further
“The PDP alert says the emergency rules for inaction in the River State are part of a larger vicious plot of Nigeria’s attack on siege mentality, with the stubborn opposition, imposing a totalitarian one-party state and turning the country into a fiefdom.
In any case, in Article 305 of the 1999 Constitution, the President did not grant him the exclusive power to declare or enforce a state of emergency in his declaration without needing to aid the statutory ratification of the National Assembly.
To avoid doubt, Article 305(2) states: “The President shall immediately post a publication, and transmit an official communiqué containing the official communiqué of the declaration, which contains the detailed information of the emergency to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, each of whom must, in the case of someone, be unwilling to consider a case, or be considered a case, or be considered a case, or be considered a case, or be considered a case, or be considered a speech, or be considered, or be a speech, or be approved.
The President should recognize that it is illegal to order his immediate takeover of the River State Government to unelected individuals, and is a clear secret to the crisis, and that the threat is not only a threat to peace and stability in the River State.
For the focus, Governor Fobara cannot be unconstitutional during his four-year term of office for the Democratic Party.
Therefore, the PDP warned Deputy Admiral Ibokette Ibas (RTD) to respect the Constitution and ensured that he did not take any action or steps that could derail the smooth democratic governance of the River State.
Nigeria is not a military rule, because the governance of a country is appointed by the military government. ”
