Former National Democratic Party Deputy Vice-President (PDP) chief Bode George condemned President Bola Tinubu, President of Riverside State, for declaring a state of emergency.
George described the reaction to the declaration as blatantly ignoring the authority.
“It’s the absolute end of the world – total disrespect for the Constitution.
We can’t keep quiet. This is the recklessness of the highest order. What did Fubara do? As commander-in-chief, Tinubu gave Vick soldiers and security personnel to stabilize the River State. The governor cannot control the security agencies, but he remains calm. No one explains everything he did to ensure this dictatorial emergency rule.
That’s exactly how it started in 1962 and 1983. This is a rehearsal of what Tinubu wants to do in 2027. The APC hopes to control all states through unconstitutional means. ”
He questioned the legitimacy of Tinubu’s actions and asked
“He got approval from the National Assembly before the broadcast, which was Ace’s hand and Jacob’s voice.
George concluded: “Is Tinob a civilian dictator now?”
