Former Rivers National Information and Strategy Commissioner Austin Tam-George condemned the state of emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu.
Naija News President Tinob suspended his deputy prime minister and parliamentary member Siminalayi Fubara amid an emergency airing on Tuesday.
President Tinob’s actions have been condemned by opposition parties and politicians, including Atiku Aboubacar and Peter Obi.
Tam-George, who served in the Nyesom Wike’s administration, accused the president of favoring Wike in a political crisis, sweeping the state.
According to him, Vick and his team are groups of states declared emergency.
“I was very disappointed with the president’s speech, but not surprised. It is not surprising that anyone who has developed in Hezhou in the past year may know.
“For much of last year, for 2024, the Nyesom Wike Group has been working hard to destabilize the state, trying to create exact conditions that lead to a declaration of a state of emergency.
“Even in October last year, I think on October 7, 2024, the people who supported FCT Minister Nyesom Wike burned four local government councils in the elections in Ha State, and it was a time when we were unfortunate that even the president had been in this crisis.,” he said.
The former River Information Commissioner further accused the president of providing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) that he used to cause the state’s crisis.
Tam-George argues that President Tinub shows he supports Vick in the crisis through eight mediation points.
He also accused the president of not mentioning Vick when analyzing the river crisis in an emergency.
“My own feelings reflect a wide range of emotions, not only in Hezhou, but also in the Niger Delta region, and the President himself is not a neutral party. In fact, you can say he has his own fingerprints during this crisis.
“You may remember that in December 2023, the president gave very humiliating conditions during his intervention in the crisis in December 2023. All eight points that constitute the so-called mediation point were overwhelming for Governor Fubara.
“Now, we’re airing this broadcast throughout the entire broadcast, one of the FCT ministers, who is the main actor in the crisis in the state, and he happens to be the president’s appointment. He added.
