President Tinubu accused Fubara of a pipeline explosion in Rivers.

Nigeria News Nalin President Bora Tinubu blamed River Governor Siminalayi Fubara on the ongoing political crisis in the state, the report said.

He spoke on Tuesday on a national broadcast, and he expressed concern about the inability of Rivers political actors to reach a deal and ensure peace.

The president accused the governor of demolishing the state legislative complex and failing to rebuild in the past 15 months.

He noted that despite intervention by himself and other stakeholders, the parties involved were unable to make a standstill.

Tinubu further accused the governor of demolishing the government’s legislature.

The president also referred to what he called the “state’s latest security report,” noting that the governor failed to resolve the issue.

The president said: “The latest security reports I provide show that yesterday and today there have been disturbing incidents of pipeline damage in certain militants and the governor has done nothing to cut them down.

“Of course, I have given harsh orders to the security agencies to ensure the safety of good people in River State and oil pipelines.

“With all this and more, a president without good and responsible will continue and allow serious situations to continue without the need for constitutionally established remedial steps to resolve the situation in the state, there is no doubt that this requires extraordinary measures to restore good governance, peace, peace, order and security.”

On Tuesday, President Tinob declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, citing the non-functionality of the government’s legislative branch as the reason for his decision.

He appointed retired vice-chancellor Ibok-ete Ibas to take over the administrative functions of the state.
