    Matawalle opposes Fubara’s hypocritical accusation

The Zamfara National Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) condemned Minister of Defense Bello Matawalle for praising President Bola Tinubu of the Riverside State for declaring an emergency rule.

Speaking on Wednesday through a statement from its chairman Jibo Jamilu, the party insisted that the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara was illegal.

However, the party said they were not surprised that Matawalle appreciated Fubara’s suspension, considering his progress during his tenure as governor of Zamfara.

The PDP accused Matawalle of firing the democratically elected local government chairman and demolishing public buildings while serving as governor.

The statement reads:Bello Matawalle’s support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s illegal moratorium is not surprising, as he undermined the record of democratic principles and human rights during his tenure as governor of Zamfara.

“His allegations against Forbala are hypocritical at best.

“Mataval himself fired the democratically elected president of the local government, demolished the public buildings (Gusau Hotel, Farida Hospital), and unilaterally the administrative regions did not need to hold executive council meetings during their tenure.

“He also illegally deleted his representative because he did not defect with all the progressive Congress.

It added:The removal of office under the pretext of emergency rule is unconstitutional and unacceptable, and the history of Matawalle and its similar violations should be the last person to judge others. ”
