Francis Opoku Amoah, the Commission’s agent for Public Affairs and International Relations, disclosed this in a statement Wednesday, March 19.

“On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, an intelligence from the Drug Control Commission (NACOC) led the operation, resulting in the arrest of Uchechukukwu Chima, a 56-year-old Nigerian in Oyarifa, Accra suburb,” the statement said.

“The search for the suspect’s hiding place found by the NACOC team was considered anesthetic substances. The field tests of the suspected substances for both cocaine and heroin were positive for the anesthetic drug.

It is estimated that the total weight of suspicious narcotics is about 192 kilograms of cocaine and 0.42 kilograms of heroin, and the estimated street value is 2 million, 120 million, 606 million US dollars ($2.1 million).

“The suspect, who has been the target of NACOC, has been considered the brain of some of the epilepsy/arrests of NACOC.

“Nacoc has taken a lot of drugs from the street through this seizure and arrest, saving the lives of millions of people who would have abused these hard drugs.
