Naija News It was reported that Okpebholo obtained the defected local government chairman on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at the Benin Municipal Government Building in Benin City, announcing that there are no vacancies for ASO Rock in the 2027 presidential election.

Nehikhare believes that all formally elected local government council chairmen on the PDP platform remain intact and that no member of either party violated the APC in the state government building.
He further claimed that Okpebholo was losing grip on the political space in Edo State and desperately misleading Tinubu and APC leaders’ desperate attempts to resort to falsehood.
The statement reads, “It is unfortunate and shameful that his situation has deteriorated to the point where he now has to assemble an impostor to ensure that the president and his party leadership remain in control.
“But the reality is that he completely lost control of the political sphere of the Edo country.
“To keep the record, contrary to the misleading claims made by Fred Itua in his statement, Okpebholo’s chief press secretary, the single chairman (PDP) without the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was eliminated. All under the PDP of Edo State, all formally elected presidents of the local government council remained completely intact.
“In his press statement, the person ITUA called the ‘Chairman’ was an illegal appointment by Okpebholo, who he tried to impose on various local government councils.
“Whether OKPEBHOLO tries to deceive or impress people should be on guard because these are totally false and in Ido state he and his party have no political gains, which is misguided in misleading news reports.
“What happened today in the festival hall of the Edo State Government Building can be described at best as the fun of creating the APC leadership in Mr. President and Abuja.”
