The Edo State government demolished the property of the alleged kidnapper Oboh Odiansos in Uromi, the government area of the northern state.
The state’s working group against kidnapping carried out the demolition after being arrested on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 in Odiansoson and pleaded guilty to being involved in the crime.
Prior to the demolition, Odians admitted to participating in the kidnapping of a man in Ekpoma, noting that he and his five gangs brought the victim into the forest of Uromi, where they hugged him for three days, and then his family paid 5 million nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
He explained, “My name is Odianosen Oboh. This is my house. My father started the building, but I finished it.”
“It was my friend Epama, and I followed the surgery. We kidnapped a man from Ekpoma and moved him into the car that broke later. I had to take him to the bush of Uromi with a motorcycle, where we kept it for three days until his family paid the ransom.”
Odianosen said he used his N800,000 shares to settle the debt, but accused his friend of exposing him
He sighed: “It was Epama who mentioned my name after being arrested. Now, due to N.8 million, they are demolishing my father’s house. My family has no home, my children are outside. Everyone should stay away from crime.”
Speaking after the demolition, Paul Akhere warned that the government would not relent in suppressing the kidnappers.
He said: “There is no peace for the evil people. Those who are still kidnapping should know that the government will not stop hunting. Your time will come and we will come to you. We will chase the kidnappers and continue to pull down their houses.”
Task Force Commander SP Michael Anetor confirmed that Odiansoson and his gang had admitted to crime and required enforcement of the law.
The demolition marked the task force’s use of the fourth property as part of the state’s renewed efforts to combat kidnapping.
