Similarly, SDP as a key member flaw APC puts members on the APC.

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has been seeing many defections from its members among all Progressive Congress (APC) parties.

Recently, the party’s 2023 vice presidential candidate Yusuf Buhari defected to the APC.

Buhari not only left the SDP to the APC, but also left the candidate for governor in Kano State, as well as local government contestants and working committee members of the party.

The daily report gathered that the reasons behind his alleged defection were related to the success of President Bora Ahmed Tinob.

However, insiders anonymously told Nigeria Daily that the reason the party members allegedly left the SDP was due to the existence of Nasiru el-Rufai, whose politics was notorious for dictatorship and conquering democracy.

However, another source told Nigeria Daily Report that there was allegedly a message that Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and El-Rufai were hoping to form a coalition against APC in the 2027 general election, so the APC leadership showed seeds of division in the group and allegedly violated the party members offered a better deal.

However, the Nigeria Daily Report has not confirmed these claims, as the parties have no statements or dismissed their statements.

Meanwhile, while Senate Vice Chairman Barau Jibrin addressed the defector, Gibrin said that some politicians tried to use SDP as a platform to compete with APC in 2027 was futile.

Recall that Kaduna State’s former governor Nasir El-Rufai recently left APC to join SDP.
