    AKWA IBOM Police Station Bust Illegal Maternity Rescue Pregnant and Baby

    The Akwa Ibom State Police Department allegedly discovered an illegal maternal trafficking in children, illegal medical practices, and imitation at Usung Atiat in the Abak local government area of ​​the state.

    The headquarters spokesman DSP Timfon John revealed this in a statement Friday, March 21, 2025, saying agents arrested a suspect and rescued seven pregnant women and five babies.

    “Operating with reliable intelligence, the command raided the site and arrested a patient Ene Jimmy, ‘F’, who found seven pregnant women and five babies from two weeks to one year, all from different areas of Akwa Ibom State,” the statement said.

    “Further searches have led to the recovery of a variety of medical supplies, including syringes, drip lines, herbal medicines and immunization records, with the suspect not authorized by law.

    “The Police Commissioner, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, FSI, reaffirms the headquarters’ commitment to demolishing illegal activities that endanger vulnerable individuals.
