    • The IJAW Youth Committee (IYC) condemned the state of emergency in the Riverside State to declare President Bola Tinubu.

    • They describe it as the darkest era of Nigerian democracy.

    • The declaration, which has been approved by the Federal House and the Nigerian Senate, suspended Governor Siminalaye Fubara, his agent and the Rivers State Capitol for six months.

The Ilya Youth Commission (IYC) has strongly condemned President Bra Tinub’s announcement of a state of emergency in Rivers, calling it the darkest era in Nigerian democracy.

The declaration has been approved by the Federal House and the Nigerian Senate, suspending Governor Siminalaye Fubara, his deputy and the Rivers State Capitol for six months.

According to IYC spokesman Binebia Princewill, the Tinubu government lowered Nigeria’s democracy to a global smile.

Princewell said: “The ratification of the National Assembly has seriously undermined these principles, causing the democracy in Nigeria to bleed and sway.”

The IYC expressed disappointment with the National Assembly because they did not uphold its constitutional function of checks and balances. The council warned that the move could be a precedent for the president to suspend other state governments, or even the National Assembly.

The IYC believes this is a clear case of state-sponsored oppression targeting Governor Fobara and the people of the river to please President Tinob’s political allies. The Council added: “It seems that Nigeria has restored its military regime.”

The statement means that only one person manages the River State in the form of a sole administrator and in the distribution that is no longer released for him.

The sole administrator will no longer raise a budget to the state capitol, a strong lawsuit against Fubara.

The IYC praised Senators and House members for opposing the declaration, adding that history will remember their position.

The Council reiterated that there is no violation of peace in the River State.

IYC celebrates Dennis Otuaro’s first year in office, his leadership over the amnesty program

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) western region is celebrating the first anniversary of the founding of Senior Chief Dennis Burutu Otuaro, serving as Chief Executive of the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP).

According to a statement signed by COMR. Nicholas Igarama, President of the Western Region of IYC, Ebi Joshua Olowolayemo Esq. Secretary and Information Officer, COMR. Otuaro’s achievement Tare Magbei includes prioritizing stakeholder participation, promoting education for youth in the Niger Delta, and increasing the number of students who benefit from PAP scholarships.
