American hip-hop legend Kanye West has released a controversial list of his 12 most iconic rappers in history, five of which have been hopped.
On his list of 12 rap kings, West (
50 Cent, Eminem, LL Cool J, Run DMC, Nas and Rakim are the greatest rappers of all time.
He shared the list through X handle, he wrote: “There are 12 rap kings.”

The list has sparked controversy, with many challenges Kanye West ruled out Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole and other hip-hop royalties.
Kanye West recently revealed that despite admitting he was “very good”, he didn’t like Kendrick Lamar’s music.
Last year, he slammed J. Cole for apologizing to Kendrick Lamar, who removed the song and Drake’s songs from him in response to Lamar’s Diss track.
West insists that J.Cole apologize to Kendrick Lamar.
