Four suspects, including two policemen, have arrested the arrests related to the Blue Light robbery after allegedly involved in truck hijacking and carjacking in Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa.
These arrests follow the law enforcement officers’ actions toward intelligence linked to crime.
Police spokesman Col Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that an operation was initiated based on information involving two police officers. Officials were summoned to the police station for interrogation, and subsequent investigations led to authorities committing two other civilian suspects.
“The information from the interview led to two other civilian suspects who were found to possess three guns and said the interference device,” Nevhuhulwi said.
Gauteng Police Chief Tommy Mthombeni praised the investigative team for their efforts to ensure that those responsible for criminal activities are held accountable.
“Seeing those who hope to enforce and uphold the law are those who terrorize our community with criminals. This arrest should send a strong message to the few rotten potatoes in the service that the law has too long arms and we will certainly catch up with them,” Mthombeni said.
