Nigerian man arrested in India for S3xtorth plan that leads female doctor to commit suicide

A 31-year-old Nigerian man, Chijioke John Okoye, was arrested in India for allegedly extorting and extorting a female doctor, which led to her suicide.

The defendant allegedly had obtained some obscene photos of the woman and used them to blackmail her hundreds of thousands of rupees.

The woman allegedly ended her life as the defendant continued to ask for more money and threatened to leak clear content online.

Okoye was arrested in New Delhi on Friday, March 21, 2025.

Police said Okoye has remained in the national capital since 2020.

Police Chief, Cuttack DCP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo, told the media on Sunday that the suicide notes left by the victim (a 37-year-old) revealed that she took a huge step on March 1, 2025, being repeatedly extorted and threatened to pay some unknown person to pay some unknown person (S) on WhatsApp.

According to a complaint filed by her family, the Cyber Cell of Cuttack Urban Police District began an investigation.

Police determined the WhatsApp number used to contact the victim was international and contacted the telecom service provider for their details.

The IP address was subsequently traced to New Delhi, where a special police team arrived at the city and captured the defendant from the Param colony.

The DCP reveals the defendant’s tactics, saying Okoye has conducted various online Facebook accounts on professionals such as doctors and steals his identity by creating fake profiles and imitating them.

He uses these fake files to send friend requests to other profiles in similar domains. After building friendships with them, he craftyly used them to get their phones and WhatsApp numbers to build relationships with them.

The defendant then managed to collect private and intimate photos/videos of the victims by sharing fake photos/videos of the person he pretended to be. He then used them to blackmail the victims. ” Khilari said.

Okoye allegedly used a similar strategy to get in touch with Cuttack woman.

He allegedly obtained intimate photos and videos of the victims and used them to blackmail her money.

“When the defendant kept threatening to spread her private pictures and videos, the victim was scared and could not find any other way to end her life,” police said.

“Grasked from him a laptop, five cell phones and eight SIM cards. Although he belongs to Nigeria, this is the passport of the ‘Cote de Cote d’Ivorie’ published in Okoye’s name, found and verified in his ownership.

The DCP urges people to remain vigilant and report any suspicious online activity to prevent such tragic events.
