The River State Government has suspended all political office holders and appointments across the state.
On Wednesday, March 26, a statement issued by the Chief of Staff of the Rivers State Commissioner said the suspension was consistent with the powers granted to the state’s chief executive, by President Bola Tinubu, retired deputy admiral IBOK-ETE IBAS. The statement added that the suspension works.
Affected officials include: Secretary of State Government (SSG). chief of staff. All respected Commissioners, Chairmans and Board Members, Institutional Committees, Committees, Institutional and Official Committees, All Special Advisors, Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants
The statement further directs the suspended officials to hand over the permanent secretary of their respective ministries, departments and agencies (MDAS).
If there is no permanent secretary, the highest director or head of administration will take over.

Honorary Specialist
The Chairman and all Board members, Institutional Committees, Committees, Institutional and Official Committees.
Special Advisor, Special Assistant and Senior Special Assistant.
The suspension takes effect on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, and the affected officials will be handed over to the permanent secretary of its MDA. If there is a possible absence of a permanent secretary, they will be handed over to the Supreme Director/Headministrative Director
