On the morning of March 27, students at all the tertiary institutions in Ondo State sold on their numbers to protest the state’s K! Dnappings and other criminal activities are growing.
The protest students, led by NANS Southwest Chairman Oluwarotimi Joshua, blocked the main roads in the state capital Akur, and hindered their call to state governments and security agencies to sincerely address traffic to the state’s various security challenges. The protesting students expressed their anger at the state’s insecurity with different inscriptions.
Students accuse the state of the state of verbal service for the safety of life and property in the state.
Despite multiple interactive and peaceful conversations, the students regretted that the government failed to address their demands.
Protesters also highlighted the deteriorating conditions at the state’s third-level institutions, the lack of student-friendly policies and insecurities that affect students, especially those who are accepting a student’s industrial work experience program.
State Police Commissioner Wilfred Afolabi tried to disperse protesters and clear students’ resistance.
