Residents of Buni Gari and Gujba Town rejected what they called “false information” about “smoking cessation notices” sent to their communities last week by Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents.
Special advisor to the Yobe State Government on security matters, Brigadier General Abdulsalam Dahiru (RTD)and also refute these claims.
Naija News Reports that had been known earlier recommended that insurgents ask residents to leave their homes, accusing them of disclosing their actions to security forces.
Rumors suggest that this situation has caused many people in the affected areas to escape and avoid falling into potential attacks.
However, local sources told the news reporter that the information was simply unfounded because the insurgents had no written or verbal communication with the communities concerned.
The village chief of Gujiba town, Crimp GJA, Confirm that there are no official letters or information targeting these non-national actors in his community.
He noted that some residents, fearing further attacks after being killed in the town two weeks ago, moved to Damatulu City.
Yadin Buni Town residents are residents of Gujiba Local Government Headquarters Buka and Buka areas, Tell Daily Trust that the circular information is incorrect and lacks any supporting evidence.
“I am part of the Local Government Safety Council and can consider such a problem, I reviewed all the news, but there is no reliable source of the story.” Residents said.
