Voters have petitioned INEC and began the process of recalling Enugu representative Martins Oke.

Nigeria News Nalin The report said registered voters in the federal constituency of Igbo-Etiti/Uzo-Uwani, Enugu State, began the process to recall members who represented them in the House of Representatives. Martins Oke.

This was included in the petition dated 27 March 2025 and was submitted to the Chairman of the International Development Commission’s Independent National Election Commission.

The petitioner, along with Clinton Ogbonna, Mr. Sabinus Amah and Mr. Stephen Okenwa, was represented by Ugwuagbo Emmanuel Chizoba and believed that the non-compliance of the lawmakers was one of the reasons for the move.

“This is his third term in the House of Representatives. His name has no popular bills or motions.

They said: “His name has no obvious constituency project, and we can’t see or hear him during the Nass party. He has no contribution to local, state or national discourse. He does not represent us at all.”

The petitioner also claimed that Martins Oke was not formally elected by voters, noting that legislators were imposed on the PDP “defying the party’s will.”

According to them, the lawmakers “lost the election with a great profit, but the Court of Appeal declared him a technical winner. We hope to take back our mission to get him to steal the court.”

They accuse the MP of not having a constituency office “very little can be seen in his constituency.

“He never had a town hall meeting to interact with his constituents and was completely out of touch with the people.

“We couldn’t see him at home, we couldn’t see him on TV, and we still couldn’t see him in the seat during the Nass meeting.

“He showed a commitment to the welfare of his own voters and failed to address the pressing issues that affected the electorate people of Ibo-Ititi/Uzzo-Ovani,” the voter said.

The letter claims that the petition is signed by at least 50% of registered voters, as required by the Constitution.
