Former Barcelona football player Dani Alves? Rape conviction overturned by Spanish court

On Friday, March 28, 2025, a Spanish court overturned Dani Alves’ rape conviction for the appeal.

Alves, who played for Brazil and Barcelona during his football career, raped a woman in December 2022 in a Barcelona nightclub in February 2024.

He was sentenced to four and a half years in prison, but was released in March 2024 while awaiting appeal.

Alves has been denied misconduct, claiming that having sex with the woman was a big agreement.

The Supreme Court of the Catalonian region said they found “contradictions and contradictions” in their initial ruling.

He had to issue 1 million euros with a bail of £850,000 to be allowed to leave the prison.

Alves also agreed to deliver his passport as part of the injunction to leave Spain and sign his signature in court every Friday.

In his career, Alves has won €155,000 per week, making it the second largest footballer in history, behind Lionel Messi’s 46 titles.
