Edo governor Okpebholo vowed to bring to justice on Monday, and the travelers’ killers were accused of kidnapping in the northeastern local government area Ulomi.

The statement reads, “Edo State Governor, Senator Okepuholo on Monday, took place in the local government area of the northeastern region of the state on Thursday, March 27, 2025, resulting in murder and arson.
“The initial reports indicate that the victims were traveling through towns from Port Harcourt, Rivers, when they were stopped when local alert members were suspected of being criminals.
“The governor, who visited the town on Friday to visit the situation, was frustrated by the outrageous killings on Monday. He condemned the actions of the members of the Willylant and promised justice for the victims.
“The governor said wary of members without any excuse to take the law into account without a statutory law enforcement agency.
“The governor directed the state police and other security agencies to conduct a thorough and rapid investigation into the matter and bring the found criminals to the reservation. He also accused the community of working with security agencies to fish the culprit.
“Governor Okpebholo also praised community leaders, especially the leadership of the Arewa community in the region, to alleviate tensions and handle the situation with constraints.”
